Watson & Chalin Introduces SL13K with Air Disc Brakes
McKinney, Texas (October 2014) – Watson & Chalin introduces the SL13K-1190 with air disc brakes (ADB), a suspension solution that proves W&C is first in class.
The SL13K Series Tru-Track Alumilite is our most popular capacity steerable model and incorporates our “quick-change ride height system”. The SL13K Series is ideal for dump, mixer, refuse and heavy haul applications. It is lightweight, yet durable. Our Super Short Rail (SSR) version offers a more compact mounting design when space requirements become critical. All TRU-TRACK lift axles are backed by our five-year limited warranty.
Legislation requiring tractors to stop within a certain distance is one way of trying to make trucking safe. At Watson & Chalin, we already design this safety into our ADB assemblies. “They hold up better in severe conditions, maintain stability, improve performance at cooler temperatures, reduce brake fade and draw identical power from left and right brakes,” states Keith Rhodes, director of North American sales and marketing communications.
Many of Watson & Chalin’s fleet customers already have ADB on steer and drive axles. As ADB demand increases, Watson & Chalin ADB product will soon include 20K steerable Tru-Track and 20K ridged suspensions. ADB benefits include reduced stopping distances by almost 40 percent, helps reduce brake fade and reduce brake maintenance with longer life service.
